Will a kit result be accepted by NCAT?
Treat it as no. Because you collected the samples yourself, a kit does not carry independent chain of custody. For a tenancy dispute you want documented on-site sampling by a technician.
Will a DIY result be accepted in a dispute?
Assume not. Because you collect the samples yourself, a kit does not carry independent chain of custody, which is what NCAT (the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal) would generally expect. If a dispute is likely, you need a certified tester to attend, and we will say so rather than sell you a kit that cannot do the job.
