Will a DIY kit result be accepted in a tenancy dispute?
Assume not. Because you collect the samples yourself, a kit does not carry independent chain of custody, which is what QCAT (the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal) would generally expect. For a dispute, book documented on-site sampling instead.
Can somebody attend my property?
Yes, in Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan. Outside those areas we post a kit and can put a technician on a call with you while you sample.
Which kit should I choose?
It depends on the age of the property more than its size. Sealed modern surfaces sample evenly, so a screen kit gives a readable first answer. Older porous surfaces hold residue unevenly, which is where covering several rooms earns its price. The page for your area gives a specific recommendation.
